Service Terms

Last updated: 13 August 2026

These terms apply to interior design and related services ("Services") provided by Poonam Shah Interiors ("we", "us", "our") to you ("you", "the client"). By engaging us for a project, you agree to these terms alongside anything set out in your individual project proposal or quotation.

This is a general-purpose template covering the essentials for a UK design consultancy. It should be reviewed by a solicitor and adjusted to match your actual commercial terms (pricing, deposit percentages, notice periods) before you rely on it, particularly if you regularly work with consumer clients under UK consumer protection law.

1. Our services

We offer Initial Consultations, 3D Visualisation, Full Interior Design, Project Management, Interior Styling, and Bespoke Art Commissions, as described on our website. The exact scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees for your project will be confirmed in a separate written proposal or quotation, which forms part of our agreement with you.

2. Quotations and agreement

Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. No binding agreement exists between us until you've accepted a written proposal or quotation (including by email) and, where applicable, paid the agreed deposit.

3. Fees and payment

4. Your right to cancel

If you're a consumer (not purchasing in the course of a business) and we agreed your contract at a distance (e.g. by phone, email, or online) or away from our business premises, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask us to begin work within that 14-day period, you may lose the right to cancel once the service is fully performed, or we may charge for work already carried out up to the point of cancellation.

Outside of this statutory cooling-off period, cancellation terms (including any cancellation fees for work already undertaken) will be set out in your project proposal.

5. Changes to scope

If you'd like to change the scope of your project once work has started, we'll agree any additional fees or timeline changes with you in writing before proceeding.

6. Intellectual property

Concept designs, mood boards, 3D visuals, floor plans, and other design materials we create remain our intellectual property unless we agree otherwise in writing. Once you've paid for the relevant stage of work in full, we grant you a licence to use those materials for the purposes of your own project only — not for resale, publication, or use on other projects without our permission. We may, unless you ask us not to, use images of completed projects (with client identities kept confidential where requested) in our own portfolio and marketing.

7. Third parties, trades and suppliers

Where we coordinate trades, contractors, or suppliers on your behalf as part of Project Management, we select them with reasonable care, but we are not liable for their acts, omissions, workmanship, or delays, which remain the responsibility of that third party under their own contract with you (or with us, where we contract on your behalf, as set out in your proposal).

8. Our liability

We carry out our services with reasonable care and skill, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (for consumer clients) and equivalent standards for business clients. Subject to that:

9. Complaints

If something's not right, please contact us first at hello@poonamshahinteriors.co.uk so we can resolve it directly. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to your project is the one current at the time you accept your proposal, unless we agree changes with you in writing.
